Yoga at Four Element Fitness is taught to a very small class size, maximum of 9, explaining and helping all body types and ages improve their health through flexibility and toning the body and calming the mind. Though there are many variants of yoga as there are with martial arts, here we teach a mixture of Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Hatha, a quick description of them is below.

Hatha: Holding the position, calming the mind, feeling the body working and stretching. E.g. Plank, Lotus, Meditation.

Vinyasa: Following a set pattern of movements, usually involving a peak movement increasing in difficulty, and returning to the starting position. Vinyasa is used to work the muscles as well as increase flexibility.

Ashtanga: A more traditional way of levelling the movements, beginner, novice, advanced. At Four Element Fitness, due to the small class sizes, we are able to add Ashtanga principles to almost every class.

When most of us think of Yoga, we think of bending into unnatural positions while wearing Lycra. Yoga is in fact a practice of mind-body workout over 5,000 years old, and is meant to benefit you spiritually as well as physically. The ancient Yogis taught that self-awareness will lead to enlightenment and the practice of Yoga is used to train that.

You will have access to a variety of yoga lessons and that you can do from the comfort of your own home, each lesson can last from 5 minutes or an hour and are broken into areas you want to work on; strength building, leg flexibility, shoulder flexibility, etc.
